Self Defense for Women @ Dance Country- Gales Ferry, CT

2 hour skill refresher (must have taken this class previously)
Sign up your daughters (heading off to college), wives, mothers or female friends for this class and give them the gift of confidence to protect themselves in this uncertain world! For those who took this class with us last year….. we hope you never have to use these skills, but it’s important to occasionally practice them, so we are offering a 2 hour skill practice session. If you are new to this course it is a 4 hour class taught by Frank Dawson (30 years of law enforcement) and Jennifer Thornell (25 years of martial arts training). Through PowerPoint presentations, discussion and hands on physical techniques you will learn skills that may save your life. Some of the situations to be discussed are home invasion, car jacking, rape and active shooter scenarios. This is a comprehensive workshop in personal safety and self-defense for women only. The class examines predator behavior, promotes situational awareness, and will teach a few basic and very practical self-defense skills to both gain confidence and to develop survival skills. This program is informative and empowering and ideal for women who have concerns about personal safety. You are never too old to learn these skills!
Please come in gym attire suitable for physical activity. Age 16 and over welcome.
